Getting started with Grid Calculator PE

Installation

1. Download the installer from the product page
2. Quit InDesign if it is running
3. Run the .pkg file and follow the prompts
4. Launch InDesign — Grid Calculator PE will appear under Window → Extensions → Grid Calculator PE

Opening the panel

Go to Window → Extensions → Grid Calculator PE. You can dock the panel anywhere in your workspace like any other InDesign panel.

Creating your first grid

1. Open or create an InDesign document
2. Open the Grid Calculator PE panel
3. Enter your column count, gutter width, and margin values
4. Click Apply — Grid Calculator PE sets up your columns and baseline grid instantly, across all master pages

Saving a preset

Once you have a grid you like, click Save Preset and give it a name. Presets are stored locally and available across all your documents.
